Role Summary:

The Senior Management Team (SMT) is leadership group set up for making strategic decisions to lead and manage the Country Pogramme (CP) within the context of the policies of WaterAid and the laws of the Republic of Madagascar through debate, discussions and building consensus. The SMT is individually and collectively responsible for the effective management of the CP, engaging staff and enabling delivery of the country strategy

· As Director of Operations & Finance, serve as a key member of the management team, collaborating with the leadership to define and execute the organization’s long-term strategy.

· Partner with the Country Director to ensure seamless alignment between strategic vision and day-to-day financial management, fostering a high-performing and collaborative finance team.

· Drive financial scenario planning, risk assessment, and decision-making to position WaterAid for sustainable growth and impact.

· Ensure financial systems and staffing are equipped to support expansion, new programs, and operational complexity.

Key responsibilities :

Member of the Country Senior Leadership Team the position is the point person and the first contact of UK headquarter and Regional Leadreship Team for all financial aspects. This position is responsible for providing strategic financial management, vision, and leadership for the Country Program while ensuring compliance with all local accounting, legal, MSI group, and Donor reporting requirements inter alia;
Providing strategic and functional leadership as part of the management team devising accurate, realistic, and inclusive budgets for MSI’s global program, donor funding bids, and sub-departments. Oversee and ensure financial systems, procedures

and processes, support the efficient and compliant use of both MSI funds and assets.

Ensure effective management and oversight of MSI working capital, investments, and financial obligations.

Responsible for accurate and timely group reporting, while dealing with both internal and external auditors.

Provide leadership to finance teams that are developing and improving continuously.
